Curriculum Statement of intent

Our Catholic Faith is at the heart of the community through the ethos we create and the environment, curriculum and experiences we provide.

‘I have come that they may have life and have it to the full’ John 10:10.
We strive in our curriculum to meet the needs of the children of our local community – so that all can aspire to embark on careers that they may think out of their reach.

At SS Osmund and Andrew’s we believe that we know our children and our families very well. Our curriculum has been carefully structured to meet the needs of our school context.

We believe that our curriculum is one that is broad and balanced and is ambitious for all. It is exciting, relevant and meaningful and responds to the needs of the individuals within our learning community, enabling them to shine academically and flourish socially, emotionally, morally and culturally. So that all can have the experience of positive role models in their studies. So that all can appreciate the diversity of the community of Bolton and the UK. So that all can experience a wide range of learning opportunities that will aid their development.

So that all can contribute to the wider society. So that all can have experiences beyond the classroom that they may not otherwise have. So that all can develop strategies to overcome barriers, whether that be speech and language, reading skills, concentration to name a few. So that all develop knowledge and understanding across all subjects in a structured and sequential manner. So that all know that British Values are Christian Values, permeating our curriculum are the core values of our school together with the British Values of Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect, Democracy and the Rule of Law. So that all can experience that God is in everything good. So that all can live life to the full.

So that all know our core values of Love, Faith and Hope.

Our curriculum complies with the Equality Act 2010 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014 ensuring our curriculum is accessible for our children.
